Usana Probiotic Review

Usana Health Sciences is the producer of the Usana Probiotic, a proprietary blend with 12 billion CFUs (healthy bacteria) coming from 2 different probiotic strains. At $30 for just 14 servings, it’s quite pricey, let’s see if it’s worth the money.

Usana Probiotic Full Review & Opinion

Usana Probiotic Ingredients

As mentioned the Usana Probiotic contains 12 billion CFUs, coming from 2 different probiotic strains Lactobacillus rhamnosus and Bifidobacterium.

Some other ingredients include mannitol, inulin and silicon dioxide.

Let’s take a look at each one of the probiotic strains.

First, we have Lactobacillus rhamnosus, this is a well known friendly gut bacteria, which is naturally found in your gut (just probably in not a high enough dose), its health benefits range from providing relief from IBS, to treating travellers diarrhea and improving your guts function to absorb nutrients. It’s also quite famous for improving oral health, which is another plus.

Second we have Bifidobacterium, this one is mainly a detoxifying probiotic strain, as it helps us digest and break down nutrients and also produce vitamins in the body. It’s also very important for proper detoxification of bad bacteria, as it’s very good at identifying them and flushing them out of the body.

Recommended daily dosage – Usana Probiotic

The recommended daily dosage for Usana Probiotic is 1-2 powder packets per day, mixed into a drink and consumed immediately.

Usana Probiotic Benefits

In terms of the benefits that I experienced, I’d have to say maybe a bit less bloating, but everything else stayed relatively normal unfortunately.

No boosts in energy, no mind clarity, no flawless digestion – none of the things I usually experience with my preferred probiotic – I think it’s because of the powder form, as I’ve read somewhere that powders simply aren’t as effective because the probiotics don’t make it to your gut.

According to some reviews however, if you’re taking probiotics after antibiotics, the Usana probiotic seems to work quite well.

Usana Probiotic Side Effects and Allergies

Luckily I experienced no side effects when taking Usana Probiotic, even though I consumed 2 packs per day.

In terms of allergies, this probiotic is very friendly towards those of us who suffer from allergies, as it contains no dairy, sugar or gluten.

Just make sure to pay attention and make sure you’re not allergic to any of the other ingredients mannitol, inulin and silicon dioxide.

Usana Probiotic Review

Overall, there were quite a few things I liked, but due to not seeing many benefits, I can’t recommend this probiotic.

First off, let’s talk about what I liked. I really appreciate how allergy friendly this probiotic is, it’s also packaged nicely.

But the list of what I didn’t like is much longer…

I really disliked that the probiotic comes with only 2 probiotic strains, which is simply not enough to see any major benefits or results. Pair that with the fact that these aren’t capsules, but powder and I think I know the reason why I didn’t see any improvements.

Another downside is that this probiotic is INCREDIBLY expensive, coming in at $2 per packet, which totals to $4 per day if you take 2 packs – worst of all the probiotic count isn’t even that high. 🙁

Overall, I DO NOT recommend this product, as there are numerous better and more affordable choices out there, that will actually give you some benefits and improve your gut health.
