Nutrition Now PB8 Probiotic Full Review & Opinion

PB8 Probiotic Ingredients

The fact that this probiotic contains over 14 billion cells and 8 strains of probiotics is quite excellent – however, keep in mind that the cell count is guaranteed only at the factory.

Meaning that by the time the probiotic makes it to your house that cell count could be a lot lot lower…

Here’s a list of strains and ingredients in the PB8 Probiotic:

  • Lactobacillus acidophilus,
  • Lactobacillus rhamnosus,
  • Lactobacillus casei,
  • Bifidobacterium bifidum,
  • Bifidobacterium longum,
  • Bifidobacterium lactis,
  • Lactobacillus plantarum,
  • Lactobacillus salivarius,
  • Microcrystalline cellulose,
  • Inulin (prebiotic),
  • magnesium stearate,
  • Silica

As you noticed the probiotic also contains a prebiotic – inulin, this is very fortunate, because prebiotics make a big difference to how effective probiotics are in your body and gut. Unfortunately, the list of strains also includes a strain of which I’m not the biggest fan – Lactobacillus casei.

While there’s nothing wrong with this strain, I’ve had some negative experiences when taking probiotics that contain it – from my research, it seems that this strain is super aggressive and can lower the effectiveness of the good bacteria.

Luckily the PB8 Probiotic also contains Lactobacillus acidophilus, one of the most researched strains out there with profound benefits for your immune system, digestions and also vaginal health.

Nutrition Now PB8 Probiotic Dosage

Nutrition Now PB8 Probiotic should be consumed two times a day, one capsule at a time. The total would be 2 capsules per day according to the directions.

PB8 Probiotic Review and Thoughts

Let’s first start off with what I liked – out of everything, definitely the price point.

The price of PB8 Probiotic is only $12.59, this will last you about 2 months, as there are 120 capsules.

I also really liked the packaging and the fact that the PB8 has 8 different probiotic strains, which is more than the average 5.

For what I didn’t like, first off, no guarantees.

As mentioned, the count of the healthy bacteria is only assured at the factory, but given the fact that PB8 probiotics need to be stored in a refrigerator to maintain their quality – it kind of makes me doubt the effectiveness and potency of the product.

Another thing that bothered me is that the PB8 probiotic is marked as adults-only probiotic, thus I have to buy separate probiotics if I want to give them to my kids, which is unfortunate.

Benefits of Nutrition Now PB8

Even though I did start doubting the quality of the product after reading through some other reviews, I still experienced a few benefits.

Less bloating
After the initial period of my body and gut getting used to the new beneficial bacteria, I noticed that no matter what I ate, I’d experience dramatically less bloating, even after a heavy meal.

Mind clarity
I’m not sure if it’s the time of year, but a few days after starting this regimen I noticed that my mind was way clearer and I could also focus for much longer than before, definitely a big plus.

But that’s about it, unfortunately…

Usually, with other probiotics I notice way more benefits, like improved digestion, less heartburn, more energy, but not with this one…

Which again, makes me doubt its potency and effectiveness.

PB8 Probiotic Side Effects and Allergies

Like with most cheaper probiotics I also experienced some side effects with PB 8 probiotic.

The first few days I had some belly cramps and loose stools, which weren’t the most encouraging in relation to how effective this product is.

Luckily a few days after the problems, the belly cramps stopped and my digestion improved – but I’m not sure it improved more than what I’m used to.

Regarding allergies, personally I’m allergic to lactose and all dairy in general, luckily the PB8 probiotic is very allergy friendly.

The capsules are FREE of soy, gluten, milk, wheat, eggs and peanuts, the probiotic was also featured in this post:
