Nature’s Bounty Ultra Strength Probiotic 10 is a very popular probiotic, with over 350 positive ratings on Amazon, but what is all the hype about, how does the product work and is it worth the price?
Nature Bounty Probiotic Full Review & Opinion
Here are my results and thoughts after using the probiotic for just over 3 weeks. But first let’s take a look at the ingredients of the product…
Nature Bounty Probiotic Ingredients
Nature’s Bounty Probiotic 10 has over 20 billion live cultures or CFUs from over 10 different probiotic strains, as the name suggests. There are also a few additives, but nothing that you should worry about, as they’re all-natural.
Here’s the list of all ingredients:
- Lactobacillus Plantarum,
- Bifidobacterium Bifidum,
- Lactobacillus Rhamnosus,
- Lactobacillus Bulgaricus,
- Lactobacillus Salivarius,
- Lactobacillus Brevis,
- Lactobacillus Acidophilus,
- Lactobacillus Paracasei,
- Lactobacillus Casei,
- Bifidobacterium Lactis,
One of my favorite strains of probiotics that you’ll be able to find in Probiotic 10 is Bifidobacterium Bifidum, I personally really like this, because I find that whenever it is included in one of the probiotics I’m testing my immune system improves greatly.
Also – ladies, when the time of month comes, it’ll be a lot less painful and easier to handle for some reason, I don’t know what the exact reason is, but I noticed the pattern.
The strain is also very good as it helps the body fight against flu, colds, and infections and also gastritis:
Usually, around that time of the month I also experience bloating and other digestive problems, luckily the Probiotic 10 contains the strain Lactobacillus Acidophilus, which according to research helps with those problems.
It also helps with clearing up acne, you can read more here.
Recommended dosage for Nature’s Bounty Probiotic 10
The recommended dosage for Nature’s Bounty Probiotic 10 is 1 capsule per day, if that doesn’t help with your digestive problems you can increase to 2 capsules per day.
Nature Bounty Probiotics Review
Let’s first start with the things I liked. I really appreciated the probiotic strain count and the count of live organisms, considering the affordability of this product, you really can’t go wrong.
Regarding my thoughts on the capsules, I also really liked them, as they’re shaped nicely and are very easy to get down and consume with a bit of water.
In regards to the negatives, there are 2 things that really bothered me, first off were the side effects, which I’ll talk about below.
Second is the fact that this probiotic is not allergy friendly at all.
As someone who has problems tolerating dairy and lactose, I expected this probiotic to be dairy and lactose-free like other probiotics, unfortunately that’s not the case with Probiotic 10, as it does contain lactose.
It’s also not ideal, as probiotics are often used to reverse lactose intolerance – this kind of beats the point of the entire product and it’s the reason why I cannot recommend it.
Benefits after using Nature Bounty Probiotic 10
While my digestion definitely wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows (probably due to the lactose in the probiotic), I did notice a few improvements.
The main improvement that I noticed was my immune system, since it’s currently still winter (I’m a summer person) I often get cold quite easily.
With that come common colds and sometimes the flu, in fact I was fighting a cold when I started taking the probiotic, but just a few days after I was 100% fine.
I also stopped being cold all the time and overall I feel much stronger, it’s like my immune system got a makeover and an upgrade.
Nature Bounty Probiotic 10 Side Effects and Allergens
Other than the fact that I failed to notice that this probiotic contained lactose and is not dairy free, there was one more thing that I had to deal with after starting this probiotic protocol.
I have to admit that the first 4 days after taking just one capsule per day, my digestion and stomach felt a bit weird.
It’s not that I was bloated, but I had a weird feeling, I felt like I had a tummy ache for 4 days straight, which definitely isn’t something I hoped for.
It’s because of that, that I’m not able to recommend the product, even though I did see some benefits.
Regarding those who have allergies, the Probiotic 10 is not 100% dairy, soy, and wheat-free like other probiotics, thus that’s another reason why I cannot recommend it.
