Jarrow Dophilus Full Review & Opinion

Jarro-Dophilus EPS Probiotic Ingredients

The Jarro Dophilus EPS Probiotic contains over 5 billion CFUs (healthy bacteria) per serving, coming in from 8 different probiotic strains, making it one of the best probiotics for c diff.

List of probiotic strains:

  • Lactobacillus rhamnosus,
  • Pediococcus acidilactici,
  • Bifidobacterium longum,
  • Bifidobacterium breve,
  • Lactobacillus acidophilus,
  • Lactobacillus casei,
  • Lactobacillus plantarum,
  • Lactococcus lactis ssp. lactis

If I had to pick 2 of my favorite strains from the list of probiotic strains that can be found in Jarro-Dophilus Probiotic I’d first pick Pediococcus acidilactici.

Pediococcus acidilactici is an excellent choice, as it’s been shown to dramatically improve constipation, diarrhea and also boost a weak immune system. This probiotic strain originates from vegetables, which is another plus that I really like.

Lactobacillus rhamnosus is the 2nd on the list of my favorite strains, as it’s incredibly beneficial for cell recovery of bladder, vagina and intestine cells.

There’s also been numerous research studies done on the positive effects this strain has on reversing infections and the growth of harmful bacteria in the body.

Recommended dosage for Jarrow Dophilus Probiotic

The recommended daily dose by Jarrow Formulas for Jarro Dophilus Probiotic is 1-2 capsules daily, ideally with a bit of water, 30 minutes before eating.

The actual packaging contains 120 capsules, which is quite good, as that’ll last you 2-4 months if you take the daily recommended dosage.

Jarro-Dophilus EPS Probiotic Results and Benefits

After following the recommended dosage of 1 capsule per day, I’ve experienced solid benefits – the usual in my case.

Let me explain.

So before switching to this probiotic I’ve been on my usual probiotic (the one I also widely recommend to all of you) – my personal favorite is the Physician choice probiotic that has 60 billion CFUs coming from 13 different strains.

Thus usually my experience when switching probiotics doesn’t really change that much because my body is already adjusted to the high dose.

Thus, I can’t say with 100% certainty how effective the EPS probiotic really is, all I can say is that I felt good and I never felt bloated or had any other digestive distress.

Jarrow Dophilus Review

In regards to the question whether I can recommend this product or not, well I have 2 answers for you.

Since this probiotic is only 5 billion CFUs, I can definitely recommend it to anyone who’s already healthy and doesn’t have any digestive or other health problems at the moment, in my opinion, this is an excellent maintenance probiotic, especially if you’re struggling with things like leaky gut or UTI.

HOWEVER, if you’re someone who is struggling with digestive problems and wants to reverse them, then I cannot recommend this product, as I personally believe that it’s simply not strong nor potent enough, and you’d be much better going with my recommended probiotic, which is listed below.

Jarrow Dophilus Probiotic Side Effects and Allergies

In regards to side effects, I personally didn’t experience any major side effects when testing out this product, which is a good thing, but then again brings us to the question of how potent the product really is, since it’s normal to experience a tiny bit of digestive discomfort for the first few days after switching probiotics.

In terms of allergens, I’m sorry to say that this product does contain both milk and soy, which is a big no no for those struggling with allergies.

In fact, I’m a bit disappointed, since many people take probiotics to reverse lactose intolerance and other allergies that originate from the gut, thus taking this probiotic doesn’t really make sense.

Overall, I’m not that happy about the probiotic and can’t really recommend it, as there are numerous better choices on the market.
