BioTrust Pro X10 Review

Even though the BioTrust Pro X10 is on the more expensive side at $55 per bottle, I put my skepticism aside and decided to try and test it out anyway, healthy is most important of all at the end of the day and apparently this is one of the best probiotics for diverticulitis.

BioTrust Pro X10 Full Review & Opinion

After testing and consuming the product for about 4 weeks, I’m ready to share my thoughts and provide you with a full review.

BioTrust Pro X10 Probiotic Ingredients

BioTrust Pro X10 is a probiotic containing 9 billion CFUs (healthy bacteria) coming from 8 different probiotic strains – given the name I’d expect at least one of these to be a number 10. 🙂

The strains included in this probiotic blend are:

  • Bifidobacterium breve,
  • Bifidobacterium lactis,
  • Lactobacillus acidophilus,
  • Lactobacillus plantarum,
  • Lactobacillus rhamnosus,
  • Lactobacillus salivarius,
  • Bacillus subtilis,
  • Saccharomyces boulardii

Out of the 8 probiotic strains, there are 2 that I’m a big fan of, one is Bifidobacterium lactis and the reason for it is that it’s been proven to provide a boost to the immune system and help with colds. It’s also very beneficial for the gut as it helps with the digestion and absorption of nutrients from food.

Lactobacillus acidophilus is the second strain that I’m a big fan of, as it’s helped both me and my mother who both had issues with IBS, bloating and gas. This probiotic strain is a miracle and I highly recommend using probiotics that include it.

Recommended daily dosage for BioTrust Pro X10

The recommended dosage according to the directions is 2 capsules per day. For the best results you should consume 1 capsule in the morning before breakfast and 1 in the evening before dinner.

BioTrust Pro X10 Benefits

Before I go over the benefits, it’s important that I mention that I’m coming from a 60 billion CFU probiotic (I’ll talk more about it later).

After switching from my regular probiotic to BioTrust Pro X10 I did notice some initial problems with my digestion, I’ll talk more about this in the side effects section. Luckily the situation stabilized after a few days and my digestion returned to normal, although it wasn’t as good as when I took my regular probiotic, as I did experience a tiny bit of bloating.

In terms of the energy levels and mind clarity, I’m happy to say that those were ok and weren’t affected by switching to the BioTrust Pro X10 probiotic, so that’s a big plus.

Pro X10 Probiotic Side Effects and Allergies

Although I didn’t expect it I still experienced some side effects when taking the Pro X10 probiotic, it’s interesting because usually I don’t get any side effects, especially when a probiotic is of a lower dosage like this one.

The side effect was basically non-stop belly pain, I had a pretty bad stomach ache for the first 4 days, which really wasn’t ideal. 🙁

Regarding allergies the BioTrust Pro X10 is free of all allergens including eggs, dairy, fish, nuts, gluten and whey. The only allergen that it has is YEAST – which is a shocker, because probiotic is a popular supplement meant to help with YEAST infections – so it’s a bit of a bummer really.

Another downside of this probiotic is that it needs to be refrigerated in order to retain its potency, essentially it means that this probiotic is not shelf-stable – another bummer for me, since I travel quite a bit.

BioTrust Pro X10 Review

Overall, I have to admit that I’m a bit disappointed with this probiotic.

First off the fact that it needs to be refrigerated was a bit of a shocker, given the fact that Amazon sent it in a cardboard box in 90 degree weather.

Secondly, the side effects were quite bad and I wouldn’t wish them upon anyone, as my stomach was pretty bad.

Even though my digestion did go back to normal and my energy levels didn’t drop due to switching to this probiotic, I still prefer my regular probiotic as it’s an overall better choice.
